Nantwich, UK – 26 November 2021: Cheshire Botanicals, the family-run craft spirits business, today celebrated a full year since the launch of Nantwich Gin, its award-winning, debut London Dry which honours of the local Cheshire town of Nantwich. In the run-up to Christmas and reflecting on Nantwich Gin’s success, the team has launched a limited edition, Matron’s Strength Nantwich Gin which is available direct from the Cheshire Botanicals online store. The launch of Matron’s Strength caps a week of limited edition gift launches from Cheshire Botanicals, including a 20cl version of the original Nantwich Gin, tasting journals and stocking fillers.
The Matron’s Strength ups the ante of Nantwich Gin’s 40% abv. recipe to 57%, completely transforming the experience and bringing different botanicals to the fore. Served neat, the Matron’s Strength has an almost syrupy texture, coating the palate and bringing out the angelica root and coriander alongside punchy lavender florals. With ice and tonic, the effect is sweeter, with a hint of earthiness, pushing the warming spice of the pink peppercorns further into the background.

In the last 12 months, Cheshire Botanicals has won two prestigious industry medals for Nantwich Gin and has added more than 25 local stockists. “In 2022, we aim to introduce Nantwich Gin to more people around the country, giving them a perfect taste of Cheshire in bloom,” said Holly. “We can’t wait to hear people’s reactions to Matron’s Strength Nantwich Gin as we already can’t decide which is our favourite.
