Cheshire Botanicals received an Instagram boost from Theo Paphitis back in August 2022 - but this was only the beginning!

Holly Challinor, co-founder of Cheshire Botanicals, tagged Theo in a social media post about her small family business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet or repost by Theo to his over half a million Twitter and Instagram followers.

The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 3,500 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK. Business and retail entrepreneur and self-confessed Shopkeeper, Theo re‐tweeted Cheshire Botanicals' message to his over 500,000 Twitter and Instagram followers. They are also profiled on the #SBS website (www.theopaphitissbs.com) that is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.

Small business champion and Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue Chairman, Theo Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK. My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Cheshire Botanicals every success.”

Following their #SBS success, the team attended the annual #SBSEvent2023 at the Birmingham International Convention Centre on Friday 24th February.

#SBSEvent2023 was no ordinary #SBSEvent, as it marked the 10th event since #SBS began in 2010 – with there now being over 3,750 businesses in the network, and nearly 1,000 of these small businesses came to Birmingham for a jam-packed day filled with motivation and inspiration.

"It was an honour to be part of the event, to listen to the inspiring guest speakers and to meet Theo Paphitis himself. We gifted a bottle of our signature Nantwich Gin for Mrs. P, and we hope she enjoys it!"

On the day, there were main-stage presentations from Google Digital Garage presenter Kirstie Kavanagh, Sunday Times best-selling author Owen O’Kane, Natwest’s Debbie Lewis and angel investors Ashley Armstrong and Drew Currie. The event had some fantastic partners – Ryman, Robert Dyas, DHL, iLaw, SumUp, Spring & Autumn Fair, HP and NatWest Business. The Cheshire Botanicals thoroughly enjoyed the #SBSEvent, taking away plenty of inspiration and drive for 23/24, as well as plenty of new business connections.

Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Theo should tweet on Twitter or do an Instagram post to him about their business on Sunday between 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re‐tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website, attend the annual #SBS networking event and take advantage of the networking opportunities.
